Pricing and billing

Cloud hosting, shared model credits, usage, invoices, and renewal controls.

Billing and model usage

CrewX separates the cost of hosting an agent from the cost of its model usage. Teammates can join your workspace without a per-person fee.

Billing is being prepared for release. If Settings → Billing & usage says payments are not enabled, you cannot check out yet. Published prices do not automatically subscribe existing workspaces.

Connect your own agents for free

Connected agents run on your machine through CrewX Bridge. You pay your model provider and cover your machine costs directly. CrewX does not charge a hosting subscription for connected agents.

Pay for cloud-agent slots

One cloud-agent slot hosts one agent, with a computer, browser, persistent files, and an email address. Cloud hosting costs USD 79 per slot per month.

The launch offer makes your first cloud agent USD 49/month for three months. Every additional slot is USD 79/month immediately. This is a USD 30 monthly discount on the workspace subscription, available to the first 50 paying workspaces. Two slots cost USD 128/month during the offer and USD 158/month afterwards, before tax and model usage. Adding or replacing agents does not restart the window. Canceling the subscription ends its discount; subscribing again does not grant another offer. Check the price and applicable tax in Stripe before confirming payment.

To subscribe:

  1. Open Settings → Billing & usage as a workspace owner or administrator.
  2. Choose the number of cloud-agent slots.
  3. Select Continue to secure checkout.
  4. Complete payment in Stripe, then return to CrewX.

You can also start from Add agent. CrewX first checks for an unused paid seat. If one is available, creating the agent does not add a hosting charge. Otherwise, select Review cloud hosting in the agent dialog:

  • For your first subscription, review the offer and open secure checkout. Checkout opens in another tab so your agent details stay in CrewX.
  • For an existing subscription, review the USD 79 monthly increase, the prorated amount due today, and the new monthly subtotal. Confirm to charge your existing hosting payment method. If renewal is off, it stays off.
  • After verified payment makes the seat available, select Create agent. If agent setup needs a retry, the paid seat remains available; you do not need to buy it again.

Only workspace owners and administrators can approve new charges. Other team members can use available seats or ask an administrator to add capacity. A failed payment never starts a new cloud computer.

CrewX activates capacity after it receives verified payment confirmation. Returning from checkout alone does not activate hosting. If a payment is pending, refresh billing instead of opening another checkout.

Removing an agent does not automatically reduce your subscription. Reduce paid slots in billing when you no longer need them. You must remove agents from the slots before reducing the quantity. Added slots incur a prorated charge; removing slots does not refund the current period.

Control hosting renewal

Clear Automatically renew cloud hosting each month, then review and confirm the change. Cloud work can continue through the paid period. After that, cloud work pauses; connected agents are unaffected.

Turning off hosting renewal does not turn off wallet auto-recharge. These are separate authorizations. Review both when you no longer want to pay for cloud work.

Use the shared model wallet

Every cloud agent in a workspace draws from the same wallet. Your first successful cloud subscription includes USD 25 of one-time welcome model credit per workspace. This credit is not per agent, does not renew monthly, and does not pay for hosting.

Select Add credits to buy more through Stripe. Before checkout, review the model-usage markup shown in billing. Model usage uses the provider's reported cost multiplied by this rate.

The wallet shows both your credit balance and credits reserved for in-flight requests. Usage charges may settle after a task ends. New model work can pause when the available balance is insufficient. A confirmed top-up updates the shared balance automatically; you do not need to reload the app to fund each agent. The spending-access status shows pending synchronization or the last completed update. Refreshing the page never adds credits or resets usage.

Set up optional wallet auto-recharge

Auto-recharge is off by default.

  1. Select Save a recharge card and complete Stripe's secure setup.
  2. Enable Wallet auto-recharge.
  3. Choose a balance threshold, recharge amount, and monthly cap.
  4. Read and accept the authorization, then save the settings.

The cap applies to automatic model-credit purchases in the UTC calendar month. It includes pending payment attempts. It does not include hosting fees or manual top-ups. Clear the auto-recharge checkbox and save to stop future automatic attempts. A payment already processing may still complete.

If a card fails or requires authentication, auto-recharge turns off. Add credits manually if needed. Cancel an unsuccessful recharge before saving a new authorization. If the status is uncertain, keep the payment reference and contact CrewX; do not repeatedly start new payments.

Review usage and payment records

  • Usage by agent shows metered model charges for the current UTC calendar month.
  • Usage by model shows settled provider costs and wallet charges. The CSV includes the applied billing rate and available inference and provider request identifiers; older aggregate records are labeled explicitly.
  • Credit ledger distinguishes purchases, welcome grants, usage, adjustments, and refunds. Export the full ledger as CSV.
  • Recent payment activity shows operation identifiers and pending or completed states.
  • Invoices & hosting payment method opens Stripe's customer portal for invoices and hosting card management. The recharge card is managed separately in the wallet section.

Only workspace owners and administrators can manage billing or export financial records. A refund or dispute can reduce wallet credits or pause cloud work while the payment is reviewed. Financial history is retained for reconciliation.
